다음 지문과 문제에 대한 질문이네요.

(중국 사이트에는 동일 문제 답을 ABC라고 해놨네요...라고 말씀하셨는데, 아무리 찾아도 그렇게 답한 곳을 찾을 수 없네요. 그런 곳을 알려주세요.

제가 찾은 중국 싸이트들은 정답을 C라고 하네요. 하지만 제가 보기에 정답은 B와 C 같습니다.)

 

 

Snow algae, the most prolific and colorful microbial species colonizing snow and ice surfaces, have been studied in many polar and alpine settings. As part of their life cycle and as a mechanism of protection from high irradiation, snow algal species produce red pigments (carotenoids). 올려주신 GRE Verbal 후기 테스트 4의 섹션 1, 8문제 (snow algae 문제) 답이 B가 아닌 C인 이유가 궁금합니다. 사실 처음엔 B,C를 골랐는데.... 다시 풀어보니 그냥 B만 답인것 같습니다.

 

As a mechanism of protection from extreme temperatures = mechanism protection from high irradiation이지 않나요?
